Ideally, an egg freezing candidate is in her 20s to early 30s and has no family history of fertility issues. At this age, most eggs are good quality, meaning that they have a better chance of resulting in a successful outcome.

A simple blood test is the first step in the egg freezing process. Through an ultrasound and by testing AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) your doctor will have a better understanding of your ovarian reserve (or amount of eggs in your body). Patients with a higher ovarian reserve typically have a better outcome when it comes time to retrieval, allowing for a higher number of eggs to continue in the freezing process.
